Default Palm Trees in Nashville Tennessee

I just bought two windmill palms at 5 feet height for my area because they say it can survive the winters here. Has anyone in Tennessee ever grown these around these parts. I dont mind stopping by if you live in the Nashville area and seeing them. Thanks so much.

P.S. I am married and only interested in the palm tree not for anything else!

Default Tennessee Border Line for windmill palms

What I am saying is that Although the windmill palms are very cold hardy they sometimes can be affected by severe drops in temperatures. So if you expect a cold snap where temps will be dropping below 20 degrees, I would definitely recommend protecting your palm. I would protect the palm for the whole winter for at least to first two years. After that the palm should acclimate to your area. If it was me I would have went with a few Needle Palms and A Waggie Palm. Needle Palms can do well in 0 degree weather and the Waggie has more stiff leaves and are considered to be a little bit more cold tolerant then the Windmill Palm. You might also want to make sure you plant the windmill palms where they will receive the most sun but also receive the less wind though out the day. This will help tremendously when it comes to winter.

Default Update about the windmill

I received my palm yesterday and I expected it to come sooner, however I forgot about Labor Day weekend. I am very happy with both palm trees and immediately put them into the ground. My husband said we should water it everyday, but the instructions I received said to let the roots dry out between waterings. The windmill palm trees came in a nicely packaged box and came with two bags of different fertilizers. One of the fertilizers said to place it near the bottom of the hole and the other one on the the top. What's the best watering schedule and should the water spray the top or the trunk?
